ABOUT

Inspired by all the creativity in this city, my good friend Tawny and I established Hand Born to promote local artists and artisans, giving them a chance to sell their handmade items to the public. Our first Hand Born Boutique was held in my house in December of 2004. We had a dj who played while 21 vendors sold handmade goods such as jewelry, clothes and handpainted purses (some of which can now be purchased on this site!). Now that the boutique is over, we decided to create a monthly craft night where we can all come together to motivate and inspire each other to make items for our next Hand Born boutique. If you live in the area and are interested in attending one of our craft nights, please email me for times and directions. Hope to see you soon! -Julie

Our First show ever! December 2004

"Julie, who unselfishly opened her home to the Hand Born and eclectic indie super store put this together in the comfort of her own residence. This was the coolest experience I've encountered as of yet here in the valley. She had invited clothing designers, jewlers and painters who together brought their handmade items, from hand painted purses to Christmas cards, and sold them to customers as a dj performed and complimentary wine and cheeses and hummus were served to our delight." - Tony Homsi, Valley Weekly
